Start page guide
Back up your start page and move it to another device
The short answerPress export at the bottom of picktheclick to download your tiles as a small Markdown file, one line per site. On another browser or device, press import and choose that file: it replaces the tiles there after you confirm. Import also reads a JSON list or plain “Name, url” lines.
The backup file
# picktheclick — my sites <!-- 3 site(s) · exported 2026-10-08 · re-import at picktheclick.com --> - [ChatGPT](https://chatgpt.com) - [GitHub](https://github.com) - [pickthetravel](https://pickthetravel.com)
It’s plain Markdown, so it opens in any text editor and reads fine as a list of links.
What import accepts
- The Markdown file from export (lines like
- Name). - A JSON list of
{"name", "url"}objects, or{"sites": [...]}. - Plain lines:
Name, url, or just an address.
Only web (http/https) addresses are kept, names are cut to 80 characters, and one file loads up to 300 sites. Import asks before it replaces your current tiles.
